Alison is a clinical specialist dietitian with a high level of expertise in dietary advice following upper and lower gastrointestinal surgery including bariatric surgery. She has over 20 years of experience in the field of dietetics, spanning medicine, surgery, chronic disease management and palliative care and has specialised in gastrointestinal surgery for the last 10 years.
Following graduation from The University of Kent in 1992 with a BSc Hons in Biochemistry, she went on to study for a Post-Graduate Diploma in Dietetics at Leeds Metropolitan University, performing her clinical training at The Hammersmith Hospital, London and qualifying as a State Registered Dietitian in 1995.
Alison has worked in a range of NHS and private hospitals, including most notably, Queen Mary’s in London, Manchester Royal Infirmary and The Alexandra Hospital, Cheshire.
In 2011, Alison formed the successful company LA Dietitians Limited (www.ladietitians.com) along with her business partner Louise Coyle. They provide specialist clinical dietetic services to the private sector and work alongside consultants to provide high quality, multidisciplinary care.
